Hello,

Here is a little bit about me, I was born and raised in Galena and graduated from Galena High School in June 1991. It wasn't until I was 25 years old that I figured out what I wanted my career to be. That is when I decided I wanted to become a massage therapist. My mom was getting massages on a regular basis and I saw the benefits that she was receiving from them.

I attended Capri College in Jan. 1998 and graduated on September 1998 in massage therapy. I started my career at Studio One Spa and Salon in Galena, IL. In May of 1999, I accepted a job in Naperville, IL. at Elegante Salon and Day Spa on 75th St. I am so happy that I did that. I was able to see what it was like to live and work in a big city. I met so many wonderful people while I lived in Naperville. It was wonderful living so close to Chicago and being able to hop on the train to go to a Chicago Bears football game, Cubs game or just to see the sights of Chicago.

In June of 2005, I decided that it was time to move back to Galena to be close to family and friends. I returned to work at Studio One Spa and Salon where I started my career. I wanted to expand my service menu so in February of 2006, I went back to school at La'James International College in Davenport and attend their nail technician course and I graduated in May of 2006.

On September 13, 2006, I started working at Indulge Day Spa inside the Ramada Hotel in Galena as a licensed massage therapist and nail technician. I put a lot of dedication and hard work into building myself a solid clientele in massage therapy and nail care. I have become certified in Thai Massage, Deep Tissue for Relaxation, Hot Stone Therapy, Reflexology and Facassage™© (face toning). I love the more relaxing and serene therapies. I truly believe that massage is not meant to be hurtful or painful.

In October of 2012 the opportunity for me to branch out and open my own business came to me.  I said YES to that opportunity and never looked back.  I did not want to regret never following my dream to work for myself and own my own business.  With the help of my mom, family and friends Knot's A Problem opened it's doors 2 months later on December 10, 2012.  I'm so grateful and blessed to have such amazing people by my side.

In November of 2012,  I decided to open my own business "Knot's A Problem". Which is opened December 10, 2012 at 601 Ridge St. in Galena, IL.  I am now living my dream of owning my own business and it is absolutely an amazing thing. I really love and enjoy what I do. It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that everyday their is someone that you help in so many ways, whether it is by relieving their pain and stress or from making their feet and hands look beautiful. Just helping someone feel better and pain free is truly a amazing feeling. That was when, a new chapter in my career has started.

Now, I'm getting ready to celebrate the 10 Year Anniversary of being in business which is on December 10. 20122.  As I look back on this journey,  I wouldn't change a thing.  I absolutely love what I do.    My motto: love what you do...do what you love!   The hardest obstacle during the 10 years was COVID-19!  Together with the Team of Knot's A Problem and our neighbors at Salon 603 we made it through the Pandemic.  It was a rollercoaster ride but together we served the storm.

During the past 10 Years, I became Certified in Reflexology of the Feet, Hands, Face and Ears and also in Cupping which has truly been a nice addition to the treatments that are already offered at Knot's A Problem.  It's always a pleasure learning more in this profession because you do not want things to become stagnant.

I'm truly blessed with the most wonderful clients who have become friends as well.  Without their support and loyalty I wouldn't be where I am today!   They are truly to Biggest and Most Important Part of this small biz.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my babies, Levi, Willow and Pepper (my kitty cats). I also enjoy, Chicago Bears football. Da Bears! Spending time with family and friends is always a most.  I love being outdoors and I have participated in a couple of marathon walks which I am very proud of myself for finishing with my best friend Sheila. Just enjoying life is a great feeling!

One person I do have to thank is my mom, Barb Wienen for all her love and support throughout my life. Her believing in me and encouragement has helped me achieve this dream. I love you, Mom.

Thank you!
